Truth Traveler

K-array USA, in partnership with Theme Park AV, has provided the audio foundation for Truth Traveler, an innovative faith-based Virtual Reality attraction that opened in Pigeon Forge, TN, in June 2025 and Branson, MO, in September 2025. Integrated by Theme Park AV, the installation showcases K-array's ability to deliver powerful, immersive audio while remaining virtually invisible within themed environments.

Truth Traveler takes guests on a story-driven journey from Creation to Eternity, combining motion VR benches, synchronized effects, and meticulously crafted scenic design. The attraction flow includes a Time Port Theme entrance, a preshow in an inventor's office, an elevator transfer experience, and 9 VR Bays with motion benches. The Pigeon Forge location also features an extended planetarium experience.

Theme Park AV specified 112 K-array Vyper-KV52F II for long, even coverage across large spaces, 18 Truffle-KTR25 subwoofers to deliver deep low-end reinforcement without taking up visible space, and 4 Domino-KF212 loudspeakers to fill areas where a point-source solution was required. The VR headsets and motion benches were designed and provided by Simworx, each bench equipped with compact Tornado-KT2 point source loudspeakers mounted in the seatbacks. With 2 each additional Rumble-KU315, KU212, and KU26, this combination provided flexibility and performance while maintaining the integrity of the attraction’s design.

"The client required discreet, low-profile loudspeakers that would disappear into scenic elements while delivering full-range frequency response, clear speech, and high SPL," explained Jesus Solis, CEO of Theme Park AV. "K-array let us keep the focus on the story. The Vyper and Truffle platforms gave us power and clarity without drawing the eye, and the result is an audio experience that feels natural in the space and fully supports the ride media and motion."

The system was designed as an all-digital networked audio solution using AES67 and Q-LAN for audio transport. This ensured robust, low-latency distribution of audio across all attraction zones. Control and automation were managed by an Alcorn McBride V16X show controller, which synchronized playback, effects, and system triggers with the attraction’s preshow, elevator, and main theater sequences. EASE was used during design to validate coverage and SPL, and final commissioning with Smaart ensured tuning, alignment, and seamless integration. The offboard K-array system worked in parallel with the onboard Tornado speakers, so the two soundfields would be perceived as one.

For this high-profile themed entertainment project, Theme Park AV worked directly with K-array USA to develop tailored solutions.

"For projects like this, we prefer direct collaboration with manufacturers to tighten feedback loops and deliver competitive value while preserving the creative intent of the attraction," Solis noted. “This approach helps us preserve the creative intent of the attraction while meeting performance targets and budgets.”

Truth Traveler now operates in both Pigeon Forge and Branson, with K-array's Vyper, Truffle, and Domino systems providing environmental audio throughout the attraction's preshow, transfer, and main VR Experience spaces. The installation is two-fold, applying consistent coverage across multiple guest zones and complete visual integration within the scenic design.
