Architech Designs, a New York based audio integration firm was tasked with creating a premium audio experience for a luxury residential property in Long Island, NY. The modern home's poured concrete features, custom fireplaces, and high ceilings created an acoustic challenge that required careful planning and execution.
"We knew from the start that this project required something special," explains Noah Siber-Sanderowitz, Residential Sales Director at K-array USA. "The homeowners wanted an audio experience that would be as impressive as their home's design, but without compromising its aesthetic integrity."
The project's scope was ambitious, encompassing both indoor and outdoor spaces. The sprawling backyard and elegant pergola dining area needed a soundscape catered to large events and smaller intimate gatherings, while the living room required an audio solution that could complement its modern design elements.
For the living room, a compact Azimut-KAMUT2V25 system was able to fill the entire area from the floors to the lofty ceilings. The backyard was equipped with six Vyper-KV52 speakers stacked in pairs complemented by three Rumble-KU26 subwoofers, each custom colored in Benjamin Moore Barrel Brown to match the trim of the house. The pergola called for six Tornado-KT2 speakers and a Rumble-KU26 subwoofer, creating an ambient background music experience that perfectly complements table conversation without being intrusive. The integration team went above and beyond to ensure the installation would be virtually invisible. Working with local craftsmen, they collaborated with a mason to create custom fittings for the speakers and subwoofers, achieving a discreet flush installation.
The results exceeded all expectations. Standing 300 feet from the house, visitors are stunned by the clarity and presence of the sound. Inside, the living room's audio system delivers a performance that matches the space's grandeur, creating an environment where music and sound becomes an integral part of the home's character.
"The client was absolutely floored by the SPL and fidelity provided by the K-array speakers. From 300ft away, the sound is as present as standing right in front of the speaker," said Siber-Sanderowitz
This Long Island installation is a great example of K-array audio technology perfectly merging with thoughtful design integration. As smart homes become more sophisticated, this installation shows that with the right combination of technology, expertise, and attention to detail, amazing sound can be achieved without sacrificing design aesthetics.
