K-array Audio Supports NASA Artemis II Astronaut Announcement
NASA unveiled the astronaut crew selected for the Artemis II mission, set to launch in November 2024. The team, Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist 1 Christina Hammock Koch, and Mission Specialist 2 Jeremy Hansen, will mark the first crewed mission around the Moon in over 50 years.
Excitement reverberated across the nation, and at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, hundreds gathered for a live event welcoming the new astronauts. The event, produced by The Events Company, relied on K-array audio solutions for high-quality sound that complemented the significance of the announcement.
Drawing on previous experience with K-array Pinnacle Systems for high-profile events, the production team deployed Python-KP102 I stainless steel line-array speakers flown on the left and right sides of the main stage. Thunder subwoofers at ground level provided full-range support, delivering precise, impactful sound that reached the audience clearly, bringing K-array products closer to the Moon than ever before.
With K-array’s compact design and reliable performance, the announcement sounded as impressive as the historic mission it celebrated.
