Gotham NYC
New York’s first cannabis concept space opened its doors to the Bowery neighborhood in early May 2023. The woman owned 2,800 square foot location features floor to ceiling exposed brick, giving a rustic touch to its modern retail approach and live event space. The dispensary not only showcases a wide array of premium strains but also offers customers the opportunity to acquire branded merchandise, home decor items, and beauty supplies.
To differentiate from the perception of a “traditional headshop”, Gotham boasts local art installations with permanent residency given to American artist, Molly Lowe, and donates a portion of its proceeds towards STRIVE, a non-profit tackling the chronic unemployment and poverty that plagued disenfranchised communities across New York City.
Tech Maven LLC, a Long Island based design and consulting firm, was given the task of implementing an audio system to meet the unique needs of the multi-purpose space; a shop by day with the ability to entertain at night.
Powerful Python-KP52 I and KP102 I speakers were chosen for their ability to adapt to their environment and were discreetly installed to match the main color of the first floor. Slim and sleek Vyper-KV52 II line arrays blend seamlessly due to their remodeled luxe housing and provide focused listening in both the near and far fields. For an immersive approach to the retail experience, wall-mounted Tornado-KT2 and flush-mounted KT2C have been permanently installed to capture each patron who walks through the door.
All loudspeaker elements are reinforced through Rumble line subwoofers to include three different models: KU26, KU210, and KU212. Each was designed to fit elegantly into any application and is used in this space to produce extreme bass with minimal residual noise.
Two Kommander amplifiers, KA68 and KA208, with different outputs, are in place to effortlessly control the K-array ecosystem through their featured DSPs and Class D modules for extending sound, an important element to implement with the variety of events happening at Gotham.
