Why K-array? A Different Approach to Residential Audio
Luxury residential audio has to do more than sound good. It needs to work within the architecture, accommodate the way a property is used, and deliver the performance homeowners expect without becoming a visual distraction.
K-array's residential projects demonstrate how that approach works across very different properties, from a renovated historic home in Oyster Bay to an outdoor entertainment estate in New York, an oceanfront New Jersey property, and a private Ontario residence.
Across these projects, the reasons for choosing K-array are consistent: compact form factors, architectural integration, outdoor capabilities, and the flexibility to design a system around each space.
Designed Around the Home
Historic Home Reimagined
At the Oyster Bay residence, K-array was selected for its form factor, aesthetics, and performance. Twelve recessed Vyper KV52R II and four Vyper KV25R II loudspeakers were integrated throughout the home, supported by Rumble KU44 I and KU26 subwoofers. KGEAR GH4R ceiling loudspeakers were also used where overhead audio was required.
Fiddler’s Green
At Fiddler's Green in Ontario, the integrator cited K-array's outdoor capabilities, compact interior solutions, slim footprints, industrial design, and range of color choices as advantages when working with homeowners, designers, and architects.
Designed for the Entire Property
Luxury residences often extend well beyond the main living spaces. Pools, patios, gardens, cabanas, and entertainment areas can all require their own approach to audio.
Designing a Residential Outdoor Entertainment Destination
At an Old Westbury estate, the outdoor system spans a pool, cabana, bar, pergola, spa terrace, tennis court, and multiple gathering areas. Different K-array loudspeakers and subwoofers were selected for each environment, including marine-grade products for the pool area.
Coastal New Jersey Estate
The Coastal New Jersey Estate presented similar demands. The oceanfront property includes a pool, patio, deck, and gym, with a redesigned system using KY102, KP52 I, KV52F II, and KGEAR GH4 loudspeakers alongside KU315, KU210, and KU212 subwoofers. Several components feature custom marine-grade finishes.
Compact Doesn't Mean Compromised
Iceberg House
At Iceberg House in Ontario, glass walls, double-height ceilings, and modern materials created demanding conditions. Vyper KV52 II loudspeakers and hidden Rumble KU26 subwoofers were used in the dining room, while the property's basement nightclub uses Python KP102 line arrays and Rumble KU212 subwoofers. The outdoor area combines Kobra loudspeakers with Rumble subwoofers.
Sharma
At Sharma, poured concrete construction, custom fireplaces, and high ceilings created acoustic challenges. The project combines an Azimut-KAMUT2V25 system in the living room with Vyper KV52 loudspeakers and Rumble KU26 subwoofers outdoors, while Tornado KT2 loudspeakers and a Rumble KU26 serve the pergola.
Why Choose K-array?
These projects demonstrate that there is no single approach to residential audio. Different loudspeakers, subwoofers, mounting options, custom colors and finishes can be combined according to the architecture, environment, and way each property is used.
From a historic home to an oceanfront estate or a contemporary property built for entertaining, K-array gives integrators the tools to design audio around the home, not the other way around. For homeowners, that means a system designed for how they actually live.
