Youngblood

In the hospitality industry, creating the perfect ambiance is everything. The Youngblood experience in San Diego, CA, begins with a kitschy entrance - a refrigerator door that serves as a playful portal into a hidden speakeasy. Once inside, guests find themselves in a petite but gasp worthy 16 seat bar decked out to the nines with design details that channel Great Gatsby era opulence.

Uncanned Music, the team behind Youngblood, began an ambitious renovation project in 2019, they faced a dilemma: how to create an intimate listening experience for guests while maintaining the opulent décor that defines the space.

The answer came in the form of custom finished, 24K gold plated Vyper-KV25 speakers, complemented by two Truffle subwoofers, and powered by a Kommander amplifier. This carefully selected K-array audio system provided the perfect balance of form and function.

The golden finish on the speakers transforms them into design elements that enhance rather than detract from the bar's luxury aesthetic, complementing the brass chandelier and other metallic accents throughout the space. Despite their unobtrusive size, the KV25 speakers deliver remarkable clarity and power but not at the expense of large obtrusive speakers.

The Truffle subwoofers, hidden discretely within the bar's architecture, provide the low-frequency foundation that gives the audio system its full-bodied sound, ensuring that both ambient background music and featured tracks are reproduced accurately.

After the lengthy renovation process, the client's response has been overwhelmingly positive. They love how gorgeous the speakers look and how little space they take up. Youngblood was recently named one of the 50 Best Bars in North America demonstrating how important every design element is in creating a truly exceptional hospitality experience. For Youngblood, the K-array audio system isn't just a technical necessity but an integrated part of an award winning atmosphere.
